Frequently Asked Questions

What files do you accept?

• STL or 3MF are ideal. STEP is okay for light clean-up. Please export in millimeters and note any critical holes/ports and preferred orientation.

What’s your max size?

• Up to ~180 × 180 × 180 mm per part (~7.1″ cube). Multi-part jobs are fine.

What tolerances should I expect?

• Typical: ±0.3 mm (XY), ±0.4–0.6 mm (Z). Layer lines and small support marks are expected (draft-fit scope).

What material and color?

• Bambu PLA Tough+ (Gray) only. This keeps quality consistent and turnaround fast.

Do you do finishing?

• No sanding or painting by default. We trim obvious support nubs only.

How fast is turnaround?

• Most jobs complete in 2–4 business days after approval. Rush (<2 days) may be available at +25–40% depending on the queue.

How do delivery and shipping work?

• No on-site pickups. Local delivery is free within 5 miles for orders ≥ $65 (otherwise $8). Beyond 5 miles: $1.25/mi one-way up to 25 miles. Over 25 miles → shipping (packaging $3 + carrier at cost, tracking provided; signature > $100).

How is pricing calculated?

• Simple size tiers for Print-Only (S/M/L) with included machine time, plus a few adders (e.g., high-detail +30%, extra walls +$5/+$10, higher infill +$10/+ $20). Time overage is $15/hr in 0.5-hr blocks. See Pricing for details.

Can you sign an NDA?

• Yes—email your template to contact@sanderprotolab.com.

Are enclosures certified for electrical use?

• No. Prints are for bench prototyping only (no UL/CE/flammability ratings). Keep away from mains voltages and heat sources.

Can you print high-heat/functional parts?

• PLA softens around ~60 °C and isn’t suitable for heat, UV, or solvents. We focus on draft-fit prototypes.

What if I need a reprint?

• Our error → reprint at no charge. Changes to files/settings after approval → new quote.

How do I send files?

• Paste a view-only link (Dropbox/Drive/OneDrive/Box) in the form. If you want a quick look before you submit, you can preview your STL locally in your browser (no upload) with any STL viewer.

Do you store my files?

• We delete project files within 90 days of order completion (earlier on request). We don’t reuse or share client models.

How do I start?

• Click “Start a Project,” choose your package, and tell us your largest dimension and quantity. We’ll email a quote within 1 business day.
