3D Printing Services (FDM)

Functional, draft-fit prints to check fit, clearance, holes, and port alignment—ideal for enclosures, brackets, and fixtures. 

Max single‑part size: 180 × 180 × 180 mm (≈7" cube).

Material & color policy (simple and predictable):

• Standard house material: Bambu PLA Tough+ (Gray, 1.75 mm).

• By request: Other PLA variants/colors via special order (adds cost/lead time) or client‑supplied 1.75 mm PLA (unopened preferred).

• Not offered: ABS, PETG, nylon, flexible filaments.

What “Draft‑fit” means (our shop standard):

• Purpose: Validate size, clearance, hole alignment, ports, mounting, and basic ergonomics before investing in cosmetics or production.

• Finish: Functional, not cosmetic. Visible layer lines; support nubs trimmed; no sanding/painting by default.

• Defaults: Layer height 0.20 mm, 2 walls (3–4 on request), 10–15% infill, supports only where necessary.

• Tolerances (typical): about ±0.3 mm in‑plane (XY) and ±0.4–0.6 mm in Z, geometry‑dependent.

• Hardware fit: Good for M2–M4 pilot holes, standoffs, and USB/connector keep‑outs. Snap‑fits & living hinges are approximate at this stage.

• Draft-fit prototypes; not for life-safety, medical, food contact, or mains power.

Material & Specs (Bambu PLA Tough+ — summary):

• Diameter tolerance: 1.75 mm ± 0.03 mm; RFID profile for AMS auto‑settings.

• Recommended printing: 220–250 °C nozzle, 35–65 °C bed; fan on.

• Mechanical (typical): Impact (XY) ≈ 80.6 kJ/m²; Impact (Z) ≈ 25.9 kJ/m²; Flexural strength ≈ 65 MPa; Modulus ≈ 2140 MPa.

• Heat deflection: ≈61 °C @ 0.45 MPa (≈58 °C @ 1.8 MPa).

• Notes: PLA Tough+ is still PLA—great for draft‑fit enclosures/fixtures; not for prolonged heat, direct sun, or solvents.

FAQ (3D Printing):

• Max size? ~180 × 180 × 180 mm per part.

• Material? Bambu PLA Tough+ (Gray) standard; other PLA by request.

• Outdoor/heat use? Not recommended; we can refer you to PETG/ABS specialists. Warping/failure in hot cars, outdoors, solvent exposure. 

• Not certified (no UL94, no CE). For bench prototyping only; keep away from mains voltages. 

Local delivery & shipping (no pickups)

• Local delivery: Free within 5 miles for orders ≥ $65; otherwise $8. We are located near Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, Vancouver, WA, USA.

• Beyond 5 miles: $1.25/mi (one-way), up to 25 miles.

• Over 25 miles: Please choose shipping.

• Shipping: Packaging $3 + carrier at cost; tracking provided (signature >$100).

• Storage: If delivery/ship is delayed, we’ll hold 14 days free, then $2/day or ship at cost.

• No on-site pickups (home-based shop).
